I think one of the hardest things for me to get used to is the batteries situation in Japan. "AA" batteries are not called "AA." They're 単三 (tan san), or 3rd size. So, they're labeled as "3". AAA batteries would be 単四 (tan yon) or 4th size, so they're labeled as "4," etc. etc.
