Did a lil bit of retail therapy cause I had a rough day, and treated myself to a copy of the MGS3 remake ^^ I will now disappear into the woods for an indeterminate amount of time to play the hell out of it! It’s really really good so far, really enjoying my time with it! 💛

There may have been earlier ones, but I vividly remember going out of bounds in the Shrek XboX game scaring the shit out of me. Basically, when you fall through the floor in this game, it slaps you with a loading screen and dumps you in a dark dungeon with no way out except to shut off the console.

So I’ve actually gotten back into writing lately (mostly worldbuilding and character creation) for a setting that may or may not ever see the light of day, but it’s good to actually have the energy to do some creative stuff every now and then, since work absolutely killed my energy levels lately 😅

Saw some people make images like this and they really resonated with me, so I made one of my own!

Getting hyperfixated on 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors and realizing that “big boat” is a great setting for a game and more games should lean into it imo. Resi Revalations and Metal Gear Solid 2’s Tanker Section also demonstrate this. More games set on big boats please!

Back on my Metal Gear kick, and I’m noticing that for as massive of an impact as the MGS franchise has had on games as an art form, there’s really nothing that’s quite like it. There’s thousands of Dark Souls clones, for example, but no game I’ve encountered has ever *felt* like MGS does.

I just saw the trailer for the new Resident Evil game, and I can say only one thing; AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!! (The screaming means I’m very excited)
