Weapons (2025) is already excellent for being a story-driven film with tension, cinematic language, and motivation, as opposed to being built from marketing data, social media moments, algorithms or second screening. Seeking out good art is more important than ever in our slop-world.

We're living with the internet, trashGPT, and a post-truth mass media landscape where direct reality and its image are melding together, and still dickheads are opening their mouths like ugh post-modernism was all trash that described nothing.

Reminding myself and all other writers that you can't wait for the right mood or time to write if you want to finish anything in a reasonable amount of time. You have to carve that out of your schedule. Put it on the calendar. Fix it later if it needs it. You can't fix what doesn't get written.

Hard to pick which outrageous pot-stirring moment will get the bigger reaction from Peacemaker s2 opener, from like, at least three. I found them all hilarious personally.

If there's any account with no real traction or need to fight (like a JKR) who says horrible shit, please just block and don't quote dunk them, all that does is show them to other people who they wouldn't have otherwise reached. No air.

Semi-regular clarity post: I made an account here to specifically avoid politics posting (which I interact with elsewhere and in life) so here's an image or two to clarify where my feelings are on that stuff:

Alien: Earth is near perfect in technical execution, there's just the odd, tonally jarring choice to cut to blues rock/metal in certain places. Saying that, it's so good.
