This reflective acrylic sheet shows how 1980s illustrators were able to trace real-life objects on the computer. Once it was aligned, it reflected whatever was in front of it over the monitor's display, allowing artists to trace it in a tool like MacPaint or MS Paint. Simple, low tech and effective.

I really don't know what to do. I desperately need an income. I desperately needed one a year ago, but tech jobs don't hire immediately. I can't cancel Ludum Dare. The generosity of the community is the only thing keeping a roof over my head right now, but I also can't afford to run it. Trapped.

I feel like a failure. I dared to try making Ludum Dare sustainable, held on too long & the job market went to shit. Spent the last 18 months neglecting Ludum Dare as I attempted to find work. I attempted to find employment I could do & keep LD going, but even pivoting to "anything" didn't help.

Being too ill to travel arounf Christmas is the worst 😔

Played Terminator 2D No Fate today which I had been very hyped for, only to fail so often on the Level 3 boss that I ragequit and lost all zeal to play it. Which is a shame because the game looks, sounds, and plays amazing! A love letter to the movie and the cream-of-the crop arcade games.

Just so I'm clear on this, computer memory has tripled in price because a bunch of it that hasn't been produced yet has been ordered to populate GPUs that aren't installed in data centers that aren't built yet in order to service a demand that doesn't exist to make profits that don't happen.

Freelancers, discourage AI by charging a SHIT TON more when brought in to fix it. Remind them constantly that it's much easier and cheaper to get you in from the beginning. Rebrand to a "AI Post production specialist" and watch Idiots pay you more because they think thats a new thing.
