What a great two weeks in Tasmania with @TerraLuma and @l_hambrecht mapping giant and old trees for @ERC_Research SPACETWIN. We managed to scan 10 giants (with some well over >80m in height).

The first leg of my Australian fieldwork trip was a success with a range of benchmark scans covering various forest structures with our RIEGL TLS and the autonomous LEAF scanners from ESS Darius Culvenor. Glad to have some hands-on training for LEAF installment from Darius!

For an MSc project we are looking for any TLS data of #Oak trees to complement our own dataset. Reach out if you have some data that you are willing to share with us! (Any high-quality point cloud data is very welcome!)

Last week we finalised the training and calibrated ourselves in #Bosland before starting the fieldwork for our @ERC_Research SPACETWIN project. First trip will be later this month to Berchtesgaden with @corneliussenf and @RupertSeidl.

Final day of training at our @3DForEcoTech @COSTprogramme summer school in Helsinki. Today's focus was mostly on photogrammetry and iphone lidar. Quite happy with the positive feedback at the end - thanks to all the trainers who made this possible!
