Los Angeles is a city of immigrants. Its a city where the street, neighborhood, and municipal names are in Spanish. We have neighborhoods filled with rich culture belonging to global immigrant communities that have made our city beautiful. Injustice to one is injustice to all.

The most striking thing about the LA protests is how many people just dropped everything to show up and yell at federal agents. There are people in suits, and carrying dogs, and wearing flip flops or bike helmets. These are not people who planned to do this today. But there they are.

🌧️ Emotional abuse doesn’t leave visible bruises—but its scars run deep. It’s being constantly criticized, gaslit, ignored, or manipulated. It’s walking on eggshells, doubting your worth, and feeling like you’re never “enough.”

It’s not just being “too nice” or “selfless.” It’s survival. For many of us, saying yes when we want to say no, apologizing constantly, or trying to manage everyone else’s emotions was how we stayed safe. Especially if we grew up in environments where love was conditional, or anger meant danger.
