2025 was such a top-heavy year of jamming for @goose-band.bsky.social, IMHO. Many of the top 64 feel subpar when compared to last year's. And yet, you could put any of these 4 on Goose's Mt. Rushmore and I wouldn't bat an eyelash.

Sorry for beating a dead horse, but Goosemas N1 this year might have the best slate of covers they've ever put together in a single show. Goosemases past have always had killer covers. (2023 in particular was wild.) But N1 from this year feels like it was on another level.

In terms of "best jam @goose-band.bsky.social has played at a festival," Hula Tumble 11/2/25 has to be up there. My vote would still probably go to either Borderland Rosewood 9/15/23 or Solshine EMG 5/26/24 (or maaaaybe Northlands Jive Lee 6/14/24). But I dunno. That Hula Tumble is a stunner.

Thanks @jarmojams.bsky.social. That was fun. I do think Cap N1 3/8/23 deserves to be on there. (I'd rank it over LA 9/27/24 and Chicago 9/20/25, and I was at both of those shows.) I'm also lower on MSG than most. Otherwise, 10/10. No notes. Feels like, with Goose, the best is yet to come.

I don't know why this didn't occur to me before, but November 22nd is a helluva day for my two favorite bands @phish.com and @goose-band.bsky.social. (Going with the Hampton Tweezer here because I feel like it doesn't get enough love.)

Milwaukee 2/7/25 is a hall-of-famer from a jamming perspective. (I could've done w/o the Cali Magic + Flodown combo to end set 1, but that's another story.) It's absurd to have 4 jams of this caliber in the same show, and that's excluding the excellent Arrow jam. Winter Tour, man 🥵🥵🥵

What a set-closing jam. No guitar hero - just a steady, uplifting build that effortlessly snaps to this triumphant three-chord theme. The driving, celebratory energy reminds me of IT Ghost a little bit.

Goose has really leaned into short-but-stunning bliss jams so far this year, and I for one am unabashedly here for it. (Those jams are also a great yin to the yang of the band's other theme for early 2025, which I shall dub "ominous chaos metal.")

Still not over this weekend in MKE. I mean this Empress was so sick and is def a bracket jam. But, among the MKE jams, is it even in the top 8? Top 10? Unreal. My attendance bias is in full force, but I've never seen @goose-band.bsky.social like this before. Can't wait for the rest of this tour.
