As the year ends, we celebrate the wins that moved California closer to clean air, climate resilience, and justice for all. It’s been a tough year for all who care about building a better world. But together, we have the strength to keep moving toward the future we deserve. 💛

As we mark the 55th anniversary of the Clean Air Act, we need to remember that progress has never been linear. It’s always been a series of battles, and today is no different.

This holiday season, we’re grateful for everyone fighting to protect our communities—from first responders and clean-energy workers to the advocates and community leaders pushing for healthier air, safer water, and a climate-resilient future. Wishing you warmth, rest, and a season filled with hope.

At COP30, California stepped up—but not nearly as much as Big Oil. With absent U.S. leadership and more fossil fuel lobbyists than ever before, it’s no surprise that action from these summits can get delayed.

Oakland became the 18th local government to support making polluters pay. Our movement continues to gain momentum all over California, including all four of the largest cities.

This “Thankstaking,” we remember: The land we live on was never given — it was taken. True gratitude means honoring Indigenous sovereignty and fighting for climate justice. Give thanks by giving back to the land & supporting the people who have cared for it since the beginning.

Californians know it better than most: Wildfire smoke is a toxic threat. Tens of thousands of lives are on the line. We need to protect frontline communities and make Big Oil pay for the immense cost of these fossil-fueled disasters.

Many veterans have found a place in clean energy. As we transition to solar & wind power, we need to invest in programs that give veterans opportunities. Those who served our country are the perfect candidates to help build prosperous, cheap energy infrastructure for our nation.
