Watching new Stranger Things. I’ve seen every episode since the beginning and yet I have no idea who half these people are or what’s going on. That can’t be good, right?

Inspired by reading the lovely Terry Jones biography by Robert Ross to revisit Ripping Yarns. It’s comedy perfection start to finish, so well written and performed by Jones and Palin. Easily up there with the best of Python. Every episode is great but Tomkinson’s Schooldays is a masterclass.

Had a lot of fun being a part of this, recorded in almost a single take.

Once upon a time, before podcasts were ubiquitous, I produced a series called Utter Shambles for @robinince.bsky.social and @josielong.bsky.social We had brilliant guests, but a lot of episodes are lost. Around 25 still exist out there, they were really fun to do and I recommend you seek them out.

Thoroughly enjoyed chatting about this underrated gem starring Jeff Goldblum, Emma Thompson and Rowan Atkinson. Written by Richard Curtis before he descended into sentimental guff, Mel Smith’s directorial debut is far from perfect but utterly charming.
