I do not understand why Platner has not already filed the documents he needs to file in order to withdraw from the Senate race in Maine. The deadline in 5:00 PM, next Monday (July 13). Is he going to wait until 4:59 PM next Monday? I do not trust that man at all.

What is Platner waiting for?

Before some consultant decides ever again to thrust a candidate on us for no better reason than that the guy looks and acts like Captain Quint, please check to make sure that the guy is not also a rapist.

It was Bernie Sanders who said, “Politics should be kind of boring.” Somewhere, that message got lost. Maybe it’s because, on social media, “boring” is the last thing you want to be, if you are looking to expand your influence.

I’m not sure whether Platner’s having been revealed to be a rapist is “the last shoe to drop.” I suspect that other shoes remain to be dropped between now and November 3.

This might be a dumb question, but I’ll ask it anyway: Why is Graham Platner not getting arrested for rape? Am I wrong about the Maine statute of limitations (20 years where the victim was an adult)? Am I wrong in thinking that police do not need a formal complaint from the victim?
