Dbacks RHP Merrill Kelly said he received a shot of cortisone and lidocaine in his back last week. He played catch today without problem and is optimistic about being able to pitch at backend of rotation to start the season.

Per Dbacks manager Torey Lovullo, Ketel Marte did not leave today's game with an injury. He was feeling a little stiff in his hip flexor and as a precaution he was removed. Lovullo and Marte both said he would be in the lineup Friday.

Surgery is not required for Dbacks AJ Puk. Will not throw for next 2-3 weeks. Once asymptomatic he’ll start throwing again.
