Happy Women’s Equality Day! Today, we honor the progress toward equality and commit to expanding opportunities for generations of girls to come.

We are proud to recognize this August as Breastfeeding Month in New Jersey! Earlier this month, we launched NJ Supports Breastfeeding — a one-stop online resource for breastfeeding education and support.

Extreme heat can be especially dangerous for pregnant women, increasing the risk of complications like preterm birth, low birthweight and even stillbirth. We encourage pregnant individuals to take extra care, stay cool and protect themselves and their babies.

Today, we broke ground on the Maternal and Infant Health Innovation Center — the heartbeat of #NurtureNJ. Rooted in Trenton and built by community voices, this Center will provide cutting-edge care, wraparound supports, and train the next generation of maternal health leaders.

This morning, we had an inspiring visit to the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters to meet with New Jerseyans who are bravely serving our nation here in Bahrain. We are eternally grateful to these heroic sailors and members of our military around the world for their service and sacrifice.

Humbled to visit the American Mission Hospital in Manama. Thanks to its founding missionaries from New Brunswick Theological Seminary, the over 120-year-old Hospital is a powerful reminder of the lasting ties and shared spirit of service between New Jersey and Bahrain.

An incredibly emotional day in Poland as we participated in the March of the Living and laid a wreath in the name of NJ at the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum.

With legislation signed today, nursing moms will be able to receive an exemption from jury duty. I am grateful to Phil and the entire Legislature for the unanimous passage of this bill, recognizing that the well-being of moms and babies is fundamental to the future of our state.

Three years ago, I joined Guy Fieri, Guys Foundation and Feeding Our Heroes at VFW Post 2179 in Port Monmouth to serve meals to our veterans and their families. We are eternally grateful to all our nation's servicemembers and aim to support them by any means necessary.

Today, we celebrated the one year anniversary of our Maternal and Infant Health Innovation Authority! Over the past year, this team has worked tirelessly to expand our #NurtureNJ mission to other states, plan for our state-of-the-art MIHIA Center in Trenton and so much more.
