Martin Luther King Jr Peace Walk and rally in Salem today drew a few hundred people toy reflect on MLK's legacy but also consider what actions to take to bring about beloved community and justice. The event was put on by the Salem Keizer NAACP and sponsored by the Salem Leadership Foundation.

It's about f---- time! It heartens me that on a day a convicted felon is taking office, Peltier (proven innocent of the charges for which he was convicted) has been granted clemency and can be released rather than die in prison due to his health problems.

On Monday the Salem Keizer NAACP will host a great alternative to the inauguration - a Peace March to show solidarity and also support North Salem High School

The Peopls March Salem/Keizer at the State Capitol drew approx 100 people who pledged to fight for basic dignity and rights which will soon be under attack. It was a far cry from the massive crowd protestingt Trump's 2016 inauguration. Apathy? Poor publicity?
