I’ve been playing Lumines Arise and having an absolute blast— a must play. With all of the turmoil in my personal life the last month and a half+ it’s been hard to dedicate any energy to playing games let alone review them. We will for sure be chatting about it on the podcast this week.

Overall liked Goodnight Universe, but one of the best parts of Before Your Eyes is its concise focus, and how its use of webcam tech to track your blinking felt inseparable from what it was trying to say. Goodnight Universe tries to do a lot more in twice the runtime. It's ambitious, but messy.

Fuck Zam for taking down all my old writing on Before Your Eyes, but I got into why that game is so special to me at this PAX panel last year. Goodnight Universe has a lot of the same soul. It's still worth trying even if it didn't hit me the same way.

I really wanted Goodnight Universe to absolutely destroy me the way Before Your Eyes, but my tears stay with me this time around.
