I find some of the commentary on what Chelsea’s problems are quite boring atm. Constant chat about ‘needing’ a centre back or our seasons over. We’re 12th in the league for goals scored in 2025 and second for goals conceded. We need more variety in attack and Estevao needs to start.

Nick makes all good points here. Do think coaches are always going to ask for players because of pressure to meet targets and lack of training time. But Chelsea would benefit massively long term from getting Josh more minutes and asking Maresca to be adaptable.

If Colwill played yesterday, the game would have gone the same way. Palace are the best OOP side in the league and we’ve got a bunch of ball to feet guys and no runners. Maresca is always gonna ask for players but they should tell him to solve this himself.

Chelsea should use the gap in quality between us and 5th right now to give players like Josh, Hato and BB a chance to be the Colwill solution. No point spending that money on Hato, keeping Badiashile, or giving Josh that contract if you aren’t going to use them in these moments.

Chelsea might need to eventually kick up a fuss about how Caicedo is reffed. The amount of times he gets called for a foul on good tackles is stupid. If you kick up a fuss, refs might be hesitant with him.
