To all my friends, respected leaders & scholars in Higher Ed: Just say “No!” to the outlandish offer coming your way from the White House. The Party of “local control” now wants to control you. If you take this bait, you will be complicit in the downfall of one of America’s greatest institutions!

Classic loser mentality: Accept no accountability or responsibility for your own inability to govern. Unsolicited tip: people see through this pathetic stuff, and blaming others for personal failures is very unattractive to the general public.

Trump saying he now has to inflict pain on blue states and cities, because of the government shutdown, is exactly the same mentality of a husband who beats his wife, while telling her it’s her fault she is getting beaten. I know that mindset of evil men well- and it defines precisely who Trump is.

The philanthropic community has united to oppose Trump and his threats. The Higher Ed community has not- they have been overwhelmed by fear and a go it alone mentality, which has proved disastrous. Either they will finally unite now to oppose this takeover collectively, or they will be toppled.

Anecdotal but I haven't spent one dime in a Target in 2025 as compared to routine stops in the State St store. Sorry for Target employees but we can vote with our dollars when they abandon DEI initiatives. Canceled my Hulu account last week and hope they are listening and seeing the parallels.

Great news- Disney has lost $4 billion in market value since suspending Jimmy Kimmel! Three observations: 1. They forgot who their audience is. 2. Whatever they were paying Jimmy, it wasn’t enough. 3. They have lost so much more than money- they have lost their own integrity and all of our respect.
