🙏 JRR welcomes the Jurisdicción Especial para la Paz (JEP)'s historic decision to accredit 104 men as victims of CRSV in the context of the Colombian conflict. This is a landmark decision that will pave the way for effective access to justice and remedies for + Colombian victims & survivors.

Today is June 26. In 1997, with resolution 52/149 of the UN General Assembly, the United Nations proclaimed June 26 as the International Day in Support of Victims of #Torture.

Yesterday, in Warsaw, JRR attended the Senior Level Meeting from the #JusticeActionCoalition, a multi-stakeholder alliance that is working to achieve measurable progress in #justice outcomes for people and communities by the third #SDG summit in 2027 and beyond.

JRR was pleased to attend the 5th World Congress on Justice w/ Children, organized by ‪@tdhfoundation.bsky.social‬ and hosted by ‪@exterioresgob.bsky.social‬. It focused on advancing #child-centred #justice, and preventing & responding to violence affecting children in justice systems.

Today, 19 June, marks the annual International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict (CRSV). According to the latest annual report of the UN Secretary-General on conflict-related sexual violence, there were 50% more cases of CRSV in 2023 compared to the previous year.

Myanmar is facing a multidimensional crisis. Ruled for many years by military regimes that suppressed opposition, it was the theatre of atrocity crimes against the Muslim Rohingya minority in 2017. The civil war intensified since 2021, exacerbating the ongoing humanitarian & human rights crises.

On Dec 8, 2024, the Assad regime collapsed after a swift advance of opposition groups. In the following days, Syrians crowded the regime’s notorious detention facilities in a desperate search for their loved ones who were jailed or forcibly disappeared while reports of new mass graves were emerging.

Last week, Justice Rapid Response was pleased to attend the United for Justice Conference hashtag#U4J and the Ministerial Dialogue Group meeting in Ukraine that were both co-organized by the Office of the Prosecutor General of #Ukraine and the Government of the Netherlands.

🎥 Last week, we had the chance to host, in partnership with the Jurisdicción Especial para la Paz (JEP) and the Embassy of Canada to Colombia, the projection of our new short documentary film, Hasta que la vida nos alcance, on the path to #justice of #survivors of the Colombian armed conflict.

Last year, Justice Rapid Response recruited 52 new experts on the JRR Roster of justice and human rights experts - 61% of which identify as women. The JRR Roster has now over 790 certified experts and remains within the parity zone with 60% women and 40% men.
