Damn. Just learned another man done a full go around. Roy Bookbinder has passed. He was a musical hero of mine & just a plain wonderful & unique soul. He studied, traveled with & was largely influenced in life by the Rev. Gary Davis, another hero. I always looked forward to seeing Roy. RIP.

So, I’ve seen Vivaldi’s 4 Seasons performed over the course of 60+ years at probably a dozen or more symphonies & this was a unique & wonderful performance tonite by the Oregon Symphony featuring Avi Avital on mandolin (doing the trad violin leads). An amazing evening. A challenging program. Thx!
