Tony Awards o'clock! I truly never thought I'd be conflicted about whether an award should go to a production of Ragtime or literally any other show, especially any version of Cats, but here we apparently are.

I don’t have strong feelings about today’s results, but I’m glad I get to watch another Victoire/Charge game and I’m sad I won’t hear the name Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen on a regular basis anymore.

There were two players from the Italian national women’s hockey team at the Valkyries game last night and I cannot overstate the visceral reaction I had when they were called out. If we’re not actually getting a PWHL team in the Bay… I dunno. It’s gonna be rough crashing these sky-high hopes.

I have a lot of least favorite parts of caring about men’s hockey, but the post-playoff elimination injury reveals are very high on that list. Knowing that these guys are skating with broken bones and internal bleeding is actually deeply not fun.

Names I like for a potential (please!!!) San Jose #PWHL team: Breakers Riptide Surf I like keeping it ocean, but not derivative of the Sharks (eg Hammerhead). “Breakers” might be my fave since it sounds good with “Bay Area” and a lot of the women’s sports audience is north of SJ.

One of very few things missing from the #PWHL experience is mascots. I don’t know if there’s a reason beyond finances why the league doesn’t have them, but I hope we get some eventually.

The season is officially over for both my hockey teams and I honestly feel a little bereft. Luckily the basketball preseason just started and the soccer is well underway! Following them is fun, but those women are straight up rad athletes and definitely not as ridiculously silly as the men’s hockey.

Amazing that in the 1st period of Oilers/Ducks game 2 no one felt the need to turn the ice into a massive brawl every time either side made a save. The other matchups have so much fighting that it's honestly boring. Just a bunch of big babies throwing tantrums in each other's faces every 2 mins.
