An academic highlight from this spring: the conferment ceremony, where recent (or not-so-recent) graduates receive their academic emblems. Three days of white tie festivities. I've had my degree for some 18 months, but now I am also the proud owner of a Finnish doctoral hat and sword.🎩⚔️

As the first week of the academic year is ending, there is suddenly a day without teaching, lesson-prepping, student advising... 😮 A day to just read and write, it's like back in the good ol' days.

First day of teaching!🧑‍🎓There is a lot of new stuff to learn both for me and the students. Until end of 2026, I'll be working as a lecturer in English at @helsinkiuni. So there's still time to learn.
