I think of conflict as any challenge, friction, or contest, whether it's between people or between people and their surroundings. I don't really go for hard rules, but most stories are improved by meaningful conflict and weakened by its absence, because conflict is a way of exposing the truth.

Also, I’ve had several people this past week locally bring up my tarot deck and ask me questions about it, which is cool…but when I’m not On or preparing a specific talk, I think the way that I naturally speak strikes people as odd, or not what they expected. Not sure. Maybe it’s my serious tone?

Staying up last night doodling Black Sails characters really brought me back to when I was 15 and once filled an entire sketchbook in a month just with pencil drawings of Dir en Grey
