Just popped outside with the dog as usual at this unearthly hour and looked up to see two distant lights moving through the dark sky, way higher than any plane. Then, one just stopped but the other kept going. So, yeah....aliens. Thank god!!!

A few things have surfaced, actually re- surfaced, that have made me go...whoah! Feeling fragile.

Poor January; hated by virtually everyone it seems.

I think I'm learning that I'm not as patient as I assumed I was. Some things just aren't getting sorted out and it's frustrating. And at the same time I'm doing the ' treacle run' when my body goes into slow mode. Not just my body my brain too.

I know it's hard to keep looking for joy right now but we need it more than ever.

Booked in for a UK MOT today as part of my car re-immigration. I'm still slightly nervous even though she passed the french equivalent in August.

Living alone certainly gives you lots of space and time to think about things, reflect, maybe learn new stuff. I'm definitely learning a lot more about myself and there was me thinking I knew everything there was left to know.

In one of my local pubs... Me: Hello... a large Chardonnay, please. Barman: (pours drink) are you on your own? ( Uttered with incredulity) Me: Yup. Barman: Geddon. Note to audience: I do plenty of stuff on my own ...if I didn't, I wouldn't ever do plenty of stuff. He poured an extra large one!

Lots of swimmers and dogs at the beach. I found a quiet corner. Oh, and the rowing club were having a charity BBQ so I may have had a burger. 😀

I personally think saying 'HNY' is wildly optimistic. Let's just go with 'happy new moments', whenever and wherever you find them.

I feel inside like I'm still waiting for Christmas to arrive; and yet it all happened last week. Well, that passed me by.

Think I'm the only one awake in the village at the moment.

My plans for next year... Find some new churches, stones and menhirs to visit. Make more soup. Sit at my new 'window table' daily and take in the view. Walk to the beach and stare at the sea.

Anyone else find NYE oddly anxiety inducing? For the last 10 years or so I haven't wanted anything to do with nye, but it still makes me slightly tense. Strange.

I'm going to a retirement party tonight but the retiree is also very unwell. It's going to be sad as well as happy. Not sure which I'll feel the most.

Visited the pub with a friend. There's 4 pubs in this village. Landlady does a good macaroni cheese apparently . Had a lovely chat with a few dogs and a 93 year old gentleman. Interesting evening.

I'm okay feeling moments of contentment, joy and sadness in the same hour. Surely that's natural and authentic. No need to play either up or play down. It's all okay.

I absolutely love the idea of Christmas and I really, really want to enjoy it. But that's where it ends for me and that is always a disappointment 😞.

Oooh. Chilly. Anyway, just met a new, lovely neighbour. She was out in her dressing-gown with the dog, so we're already kindred spirits.

It's been a different kind of Christmas for sure but there's always something new to learn and gain insight from. And the insight isn't always a fun learning experience.

Can't sleep. Sadness defeated me for a bit. All emotions are equally valid and need the same amount of attention.

Nice little stroll around the village and ended up having a quick snifter in the pub, crammed with people and numerous dogs. So, I've said hello to and met a few more dogs.

Honestly, thank goodness for sherry.

No white Christmas here but a very wild and windy one. I can hear the waves crashing. A very happy Christmas day to all of you who are celebrating.

I'm sad about Chris Rea. I love hearing 'that' Xmas song and I have a few of his albums. 'Looking for the summer' has comforted and consoled me many times over the years. 'I still stand this very day. With a burning wish to fly away.....I'm still looking. Looking for the Summer.' RIP.

My furniture has arrived so that's my Christmas sorted, opening boxes of a different kind. However, it really is the best gift ever right now. I formed a plan and the plan worked! Quietly proud of myself. Huge thanks to Deacons Deliveries (Plymstock) for getting my stuff here from Brittany. 😊
