I'm not completely sold on Evil Dead Burn yet, but I kind of dig this direction for the Evil Dead Wrath.

If you think about it, the real victim in Obsession is Carter (Andy Richter) who lost most or all of his staff, and now has to go through paperwork and interviews to hire a new team.

It's been enjoyable rewatching Tales from the Crypt and noticing that Walter Hill directed the best episodes from the first two seasons, The Man Who Was Death, and Cutting Cards. Excellent casting with William Sadler, and Lance Henriksen and Kevin Tighe.

I think people are getting carried away with searching for the next YouTuber to direct a feature-length film. It’s good that "Backrooms" & "Obsession" performed well, but if Curry Barker or Kane Parsons' follow-ups, or the next director don't do well, opinions will quickly change

"Backrooms" is the kind of film where the talented leads elevate what they are given & it feels like it's one step away from being great. The film's strength comes from Kane Parsons' sense of mystery and the state of existing in a claustrophobic panic within its mazey environment

It probably doesn't help that the highlight of "Passenger" is the opening, which is just an extended version of the effective teaser trailer.

I liked several films from André Øvredal, & "Passenger" isn't without its moments, such as the build-up during the digital projector sequence. However, it's yet another generic horror that relies heavily on telegraphed jump scares & clunky exposition, which ruined any mystery.

Robert F Kennedy Jr has nothing on Jean-Claude Van Damme when it comes to catching snakes.

The key question isn't whether Curry Barker or Kane Parsons directed their films, but rather where they were during the Assassination of John F. Kennedy.
