Unsurprisingly a visual delight. The imagination on display is incredible, so many neat touches and it's all executed so gorgeously. The sets, costumes, practical effects, matte paintings, it's one of the most routinely beautiful films I've seen in a while. Good stuff. 📽️ #Filmsky

Another film I watched was Better Man, saw it on the plane home, and you know what? People were right, it's great stuff. Genuinely emotionally effective, I teared up a little. Loved how energetic and beautiful it is, lots of fun and creative film making.

And I watched A Real Pain and it might be my favourite film of the year. Quietly devastating. Tackles depression and trauma so well, never feels manipulative. The cast is excellent across the board but Kieran Culkin is giving a hall of fame performance.

Also, while on holiday I rewatched Sinners for the third time and the issues I had previously have become even stronger. It plays very well in a theatre but it suffers greatly from repeat viewings and not getting swept up by the cinema setting. From Dusk Till Dawn easily clears Sinners.

While I missed being on here, spending two weeks in Boston for my brother's wedding was incredible. One of the greatest holidays I've ever had. It's a beautiful city. Many highlights, lobster roll, seeing Red Sox Vs the Yankees. Once I've uploaded my (good) photos/got film processed I'll do a thread

Sadly, my least favourite of the lot. Doubles down on what I didn't like about Dead Reckoning. So much exposition, The Entity is said about a million times! Two good set pieces, the biplane sequence especially but otherwise this thing is seriously lacking some juice. 🎥 #Filmsky

That new Deathstalker film looks like it has more in common spiritually with Deathstalker 2 than the original Deathstalker. Which is good because Deathstalker 2 is fun and charming and not miserable and full to the brim of SA like the 1st.

The Bond gameplay looks mostly as I thought it would, which is no bad thing at all. The gadgets look fun, the gun combat looks nice and punchy, the melee combat especially looks pleasing. Can't wait!

You know what's a good fucking movie? Total Recall is a good fucking movie.

Getting ahead of someone going to beat me to a pulp by throwing myself head first into a trash compactor.

Extremely bleak Hong Kong rape-revenge. Some real scuzzbag villains, and a revenge that just seems to create even more misery. Well shot, decent performances especially the lead and you get some real nifty wheelchair martial arts. Recommended but it's not easy viewing. 📽️ #Filmsky

Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun was a couple of quid on cdkeys so I got it. It's very enjoyable so far. Very chunky, chunky sounds, chunky graphics, when you shoot enemies they blow up into chunks. Having a lot of fun.
