social networks develop unique voices, states of thinking. there’s a reason Twitter and Facebook have a “type of person” — so did MySpace. when we embed ourselves into communities, the same dynamic happens. this is what attunement feels like.

I see a lot of people are feeling a sense of unease about a the blue sky team’s push to onboard people who have high follower count/status on Twitter (particularly from media and political circles). Good to notice that, but be in examination of why. Your first reaction is probably incomplete.

Something that new social networks have to tend with, is that a lot of the magic at the beginning, is actually because the space is small. The web2 drive to growth as the main KPI needs to be reconsidered.
