Had to visit the vampires to check my generic humira level. I started flaring right before I had to switch to the biosimilar in July. #crohns (I don't normally have a problem taking generics, so I'm not sure why I stopped responding)

I'm in a hurry up and wait mode so of course that led to a stress dream last night. It's only been 3 business days (or 3.5 if MGH office staff work on Christmas Eve) and I knew the holidays would delay things.

Last year I finished 22 books. I thought "It'd be nice to hit 24" as I started this year... Well I just finished my 34th book. So as I start 2026 I'm going to again say, "It'd be nice to hit 24 books." I don't want to set myself up with an ambitious goal and then stress that I don't meet it.

Tomorrow I really should call boomerangs and see if they can take a garbage bag of clothes (mostly tshirts) and running shoes I bought right before I stopped running - never worn! I don't see the point in switching back to shoes with a narrower toe box after getting my 3rd pair of altas.

Treating myself to an external hard drive. One of the projects is downloading my entire photo collection on google. I'm always running out of room and already paying to lease space. I don't want to pay more. I do shoot in raw mode, and that's part of the problem! I'm manually deleting those.

Glad I remembered I need to get milk before tomorrow morning making tea. But I don't feel like leaving the house after mom dropped me off. (I'm certainly not dressed for going out)

Not the shot I wanted to get yesterday but my phone decided to shut off. Lesson learned, I held it the whole walk taking photos instead of keeping it in my pocket.

It was brisk out. Wore the wrong socks (and shoes) but other than that glad I trekked out there. Even if I missed the sunset because my phone decided to shut off.

Things I need to do today: PT Read. Especially if I want to finish book 34 before the end of the year. Grateful my boss let me take today off despite her already being on vacation.

I tried dressing up yesterday but I don't wear fancy clothes often enough anymore to put up with being uncomfortable. That and I got this bespoke suit cut way too tight for my fem frame. At least I wore the vest.

Looks like I can't watch Love Actually (no peacock or prime) or Patrick Stewart's Christmas Carol (no TNT) so I watched the Six Triple Eight with mom instead. She'd already seen it.

Mom offered for me to open my gift tonight and I deferred to tomorrow morning. Even though younger me would practically beg to be able to open one gift on the 24th. Especially if I had Christmas Eve mass instead of Christmas Day.

Because I started taking photos during Covid and kept a streak of at least a photo a day for over 4 years... My google space is at 90% What I really should do is buy an external drive and download photos. But like physical things it's very hard for me to throw away digital photos too!

Took dad out for his birthday after work. I got him a book on Michael Dukakis. Then when I got to Government Center I ran into an attorney from my old job and we had a nice chat waiting for the train - the #mbta must have laid new ballast or track because it felt louder than usual.

Roommate asked me about Doctor Who Christmas specials and I don't have access to any pre 15. When I donated all my dvds I wasn't anticipating the Disney deal going so badly and HBO dropping the NuWho license. Literally don't have a dvd player or optical drive to play the discs anyway.

Going to the gym, bringing my yoga mat and bands, need to do more of the PT today. Last time I forgot to put the bands in the gym bag. In related news why do latex resistance bands smell so bad? The one I've had for over a year isn't too bad now but the new one is just yucky.

At Market Basket - found a bone in ham that's 2 pounds more than I need for 5 meat eaters. (Mom's making vegetarian lasagna.) Dug through more than a few 9+ ponders. Sticky hands!

I went to switch my laundry and the *one* time I forgot to check the dryer before I put my load in someone left bedding there. Thankfully the load fits on my drying rack. I'm pedantic enough to use a phone timer with my laundry to get it promptly. But I don't think other people in the building do.

Awesome tradition of watching Muppet Christmas Carol on the big screen at Coolidge Corner. This year I was joined by one of my roommates.

Brother wanted socks for Christmas... Asked him what he wanted vs needed. He said he still hadn't gotten a chance to buy book 2 of the expanse so I told him I'd pick it up for him. (I'd given him a bookstore gift card for his birthday in August, but that's in Coolidge Corner, and he's in Medford)

Found out the girl scouts new cookie that replaced the cinnamon toast one is inspired by rocky road ice cream. I checked the ingredients, there aren't any nuts in them. It's "almond flavored creme" both bakers are using peanut flour. So I should be okay to try it. But I miss the cinnamon toast one!

Trying to not have a panic attack as I head to an appointment with a NP at the clinic. The last time I had one when I was searching for answers about a long term issue it did not go well. Like I should have logged a complaint against that provider. Thankfully it's a different provider. 🤞

Finally did it. After so many times standing in line at CVS + watching everyone behind the pharmacy counter scramble, juggling 5 different things at once, I finally bought them some cookies and chocolate, w/ a little thank you note. (I may have used some of the coupons that come with every script!)

Finished my 33rd book of the year. I don't know how... Lots of library loans, mostly through Libby. I don't set hard goals. I thought "it'd be nice to read more than 24 books this year" after finishing with 22 last year.

I've never been to the Alamo movie theater but my roommate works there. So now I've tried their sugar cookies thanks to them. They are huge. And dangerous. And several days later still not rock hard somehow.

I'm keeping the mayo clinic's page for prednisone side effects open on my phone. After a week of 20mg I dropped to 15mg. Last night I felt my heart beating when I was trying to sleep. Garmin thought I was in zone 1. Checked and "Fast, slow, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse" is on the list!

Tried doing a character sketch for a different story and have absolutely no momentum. I should probably get back to the novel, go over the feedback I received a month ago. I really struggle with working on other things beside it. (And I've only written 2 poems in 2025 compared to 6 in 24)

Had one meeting today where I needed to take the notes and zoom decided to throw a fit. Luckily they were okay with me using my phone to listen in. Hadn't had internet problems at home today, until right at 2pm when I tried logging on. Thankfully that meeting is set up without a host. 😮‍💨

I was dreading going to the dentist but it turned out okay. No cavities. If I had some serious spending money I would look into replacing the two fake front teeth for aesthetic reasons. (Pro tip, don't unzip your winter jacket as you go up the stairs after recess when you're in 4th grade.)
