This idea that if you do work that you love, you'll never feel tired or whatever is rooted in the capitalist (and Puritan) myth that work is a reflection of value & meaning in our lives. It's also used to exploit / undermine folks who do work they love. "Why should I pay you if you love doing it?"

I've seen people say that burnout comes from doing "the wrong work". That's false. There is no such thing as right or wrong work. Burnout comes from not having our basic needs met, including our needs for rest, for time with self, and for time with community.

The basic of it is that audiences want to connect and buy in when there is a sense of intimacy. Intimacy comes from trust and connection. And that comes from being your imperfect, uncurated, self. You’re a person, not a boat. It’s ok to be human in your branding.

People say, "oh, you'll change your mind" when i say i don't want to get married or have children as if its some sad response to not having found "the right man" and not a well-thought out political decision and viewpoint i've held for my whole life.
