A step forward for community solar in Montana! This week, the Montana Senate gave overwhelming approval to SB 188—a bill providing for community solar projects, and requiring public utilities to interconnect such facilities.

NWEC, Climate Solutions, & Washington Conservation Action, represented by Earthjustice, intervened in a UTC proceeding to propose a risk-sharing mechanism for Puget Sound Energy’s costs of complying with the Climate Commitment Act. The UTC issued a Final Order on Feb. 21, 2025. More here:
