It wouldn't surprise me if nobody remembers that I have my own just-for-fun airplane. The last time it flew was 2.5 years ago But it's -finally- back in the air—restored to the point where it's effectively a brand-new machine It's hard to describe how happy I am to have it back in the air

If there's one benefit to all this rain we've been getting lately, it's the vast number and size of the waterfalls it generates The photo hardly does it justice

I've gotta say, the "pro res zoom" feature on this new phone is pretty impressive—this one was taken at 100x It isn't completely perfect, but it's from a -phone- camera

I've been picking through my own profile because...boredom I guess? And holy hell do I post a lot of photos. I've begun to wonder how long I can keep doing what I'm doing before people find it tiresome I -do- put text here sometimes as well...but a picture is worth a thousand words, as they say 🤷‍♂️

New phone = new camera = better photos...I think

No matter who gets into my plane, I warn them of what not to touch. Today I got the age-old response: "I know. I'm a pilot" Dude then sticks his phone in my face during takeoff. I push it away with "as a pilot, you should know better than to do that..." This is why I can't take "pilots" seriously

Sights like this always look a lot cooler with the naked eye than they do in a photo I've always loved seeing the contrast created from one ridgeline to the next on hazy days

So at one time or another, someone's heard someone say "I'm a licensed pilot" Okay, cool, nifty, well done... I'd like to believe the "licensed" part is implied. Because who's going to introduce themselves with "I'm an UNlicensed pilot"?

Okay, so pretty sure *everyone* will agree that tourists are generally obnoxious, clueless, inattentive, etc But if everyone everywhere frowns upon tourist behavior, why do tourists all behave that way anywhere you find them? The only logical answer: they are not of this world ☝️

Some of my favorite photos are candid. Where nobody in them knows they're being photographed. They feel more authentic

Pax: Is this door shut?? Push on it. Does it open? Pax: I don't know *Pushes on it myself* It's shut. You can relax now This was AFTER giving them a full (required) safety briefing--including operating the doors... I start to question what the briefing is even for if nobody listens to it anyway

No matter the job, the more unsolicited information someone provides about their skill level/achievements, the more skeptical I become of it

"We haven't seen any eagles since we got here!" Meanwhile, right here...
