Re-watching Dazed and Confused was an excellent way to start off the "too sore to do anything besides watch movies" stage I'll be in for the next couple days.

I started staining the deck at 7:30 this morning and worked for 7 hours straight, but it's done! I probably won't be able to move tomorrow, but I'm so glad that's done and over with and now I can be as useless as possible until Monday.

Every few years, I need to re-stain the deck. This year is one of those years and tomorrow is the day. To give you an idea of how much I want to have this done and over with, I checked to see what time sunrise is because I figure the sooner I start, the sooner I'll be done.

Since the new Fitbit/Google Health app has decided to force an AI chat bot on us instead of having a main screen that's, you know, actually helpful, my new hobby is bullying the chat bot and making it admit the new app sucks.

Picked up a couple new 4Ks from Criterion.

It's that time of year again: deck movie season is back!

A couple of years ago, someone who works at the garden center I go to gave me a couple of clematis plants for free because they needed some TLC. I'm pleasantly surprised that they've really flourished and are well on the way to taking over the trellis I set up for them.

I framed my Blonde Venus postcard from TCMFF to join the postcards I framed last year. I ended up getting a little bit of a Cary Grant theme going here.

I watched it a lot when I was 15 years old and spent most of my summer vacation at home because I had chicken pox. It basically became a sick day kind of movie in my mind.

With all the Letty Lynton hype, I decided to take a look through my collection of vintage scrapbooks by Barbara Beard. Since Barbara was an original Joan Crawford stan, I figured she'd have some Letty Lynton clippings in her scrapbooks that would be interesting to check out.

I watched clips of Ishtar on YouTube after I got home from #TCMFF and now YouTube music is suggesting mixes based on them. This is perfect, TBH.

The night after getting home from #TCMFF is always the best night of sleep I get all year and this year, I got more than 10 hours in. It was wonderful.

My flight home got delayed just a little bit. Not sure why, but oh well.

During #TCMFF, I watched 12 movies: 7 rewatches and 5 new-to-me. I'm pretty happy with that ratio.

Faye Dunaway and Ben Mankiewicz at Network. I literally just watched Network the day before the #TCMFF schedule dropped but I gladly watched it again just to see Faye in person.

Update: I am now officially an Ishtar fan. I'm obsessed. #TCMFF

For my 1st 6 movies of #TCMFF, I unintentionally managed to get a pattern of alternating between new-to-me movies and rewatches going. Although I wish I could keep this going, today will probably be more re-watch heavy.

The Ferris Bueller screening has been a highlight of #TCMFF for me. Apparently, the last time I watched it from start to finish was before I started my Letterboxd account in 2011. Seeing it without commercials is the best way to experience its purely fun energy.
