Something to consider: Our most basic living function is to simply keep living. Staying alive is job number one for most of our internal systems. The biggest threats to our ability to keep living: Lack of food Lack of water Lack of rest At our most basic, basic levels.

Invariably, I’ll say something like “No more X type of person will get my time/energy.” And the Universe will deliver up what I am expecting to be that kind of person, and have me questioning my own judgement. — In this case? 20-somethings. Jesus you boys make a man’s head spin sometimes 😜

Solid night of rest? AYE. It’ll never cease to amaze me how much of a difference I feel when I’ve been able to achieve the right amount of rest, even if it’s only a matter of an additional 30 min over yesterday. Good morning! ☕️

I love the feeling of the dust settling after the holidays. Now comes the rhythm-making. - This is when intentions turn into practices. This is when every choice has it’s best impact. Slow down, and choose wisely. Really lean into the weekend ahead, with purpose. Sunday Scaries are *avoidable*

The two of these in the right ratio is giving my inner kiddo such glee. Why? It tastes just like vanilla frosting from a can. The kind I used to steal from my grandmothers pantry and dip Teddy Grahams into.

The last three nights of sleep? Kinda shit. Three days in a row? That’s a trend, and something to address. So? I am leaning into the data. I could get really frustrated by the fact I am not getting deep, restorative sleep, or I could DO something about it. Here’s what I’m doing:

I’m really thankful I’ve taught my clients to focus on recovery and rest when they’re sick, rather than some ego-driven bullshit about “pushing through” Two of them have illness, and have made the right call ✨

Oh. Right. Thanks, Universe. I didn’t establish a vibrant, healthy, and wise boundary between myself and my mom in 2025, and the insta-defense/panic jolt I got as a notification landed that was from her was a not-subtle reminder of that remaining work. 😅 It’s always something, isn’t it…

Instead of complaining about not having space for community-building among my fellow gay men, this year, I’m doing something about it. For the 🌈Fellas ⏬⏬⏬

I just got a little message from one of the owners of the dog I watched last week Apparently, and I don’t know if it’s me, but the Old Man is calmer, happier, and more interactive with them than he’s been in times past after they’ve taken a vacation Adding Pet Whisperer to my credentials? SURE! 🐾

I hope tonight’s winds aren’t so brutal. The old windows in this house whistled like a teapot at 3a today, and tonight will be a noise-cancelling earbud kind of night to mitigate all that.
