Interesting. Not sure if it's because the book is getting into more hands and getting recommended more but the First Step has had a few weeks of higher sales. Might also be that we switched back to promoting it too, after the push for Immortal Connections. Or might just be coincidence.

Had our second board meeting for the Indie Authors of Canada as we try to find a board to help with the Toronto Indie Author Conference next year. Most amusing volunteer application? They only want to give ideas of what we could improve. Not actually do any work to make it better.

Thinking about the System Apocalypse again, now that Dropout is out; and I thought I'd talk about the main character, John. He's probably the 'voiceiest' (sp?) character I have ever written. There's so much of him that just took me by surprise, and a lot of the choices in the series was his doing.

The amount of resistance my son had, when I suggested he just ask his friends for their phone numbers and then, he... *GASP* write them down, you would not believe. The idea of having to use a physical address book was just wrong and evil and never going to happen.

I need bubble wrap. I fell today, smashed my elbow on the floor and managed to cause some bursitis. It's faded enough, that it just hurts now and is only marginally bigger than normal but... ugh. I screwed up on the breakfall there big time. Heh.

There are 123 shows at the Toronto Fringe this year. A lot of comedies and a decent number of musicals. I get to miss the tail end because I'm going to Litrpgcon instead.

So damn cool! Even if The First Step technically isn't LitRPG, just a close cousin.

Tried to send bookmarks and bookplates to the US, ended up paying $11.83 to Canada Post and spending 20 minutes doing the paperwork. Ridiculous that it's so expensive to send 11 bookmarks across the border because they won't let you send it via lettermail.
