That last sentence is where the issue lies. My workplace shed hundreds of jobs last year and the folks remaining have had to pick up the slack. So I, for instance, now have to learn about cloud computing, terraform scripts and virtual networking because mgmt. let go most of the infrastructure team.

From personal experience, vibe coding tools only "help" if you carefully read and understand the output, at which point the production gains are minimal to non-existent. Plus, they're basically doing the fun part and leaving you to clean up their poorly optimized spaghetti output.

At this point my baseline is senators and representatives chaining themselves to the door of the white house willing to self immolate instead of be arrested, it's gibbets lining the national mall for the sport of DC crows.

Vibe Coding is going to quickly ruin a whole bunch of things. I know this sounds like hyperbole, but it's not. People who spent years honing their skills, who meticulously built out platforms are being replaced by cheaper vibe coders. Those vibe coders don't know what the hell they're doing.
