Today, as Sir David Attenborough turns 100, we mark the extraordinary contribution of a global figure who has dedicated his life to deepening our understanding of nature. His work reminds us all to protect the only home we share - with urgency, responsibility and hope. Happy birthday, Sir David!

Here's a mural of David Attenborough I came across in Sheffield about a decade ago. I think he can be considered an early 'biospheric hero' which I hope in the future will be a much higher distinction than currently being designated a 'Sir'
