Worded like that, you'd also have to reject voting by overseas residents. I think the answer is to cap all large-scale donations to parties, for every one seeks to influence policies beyond reasonable level.

My suggestion would be to limit political donations to the level of UK income or corporation tax paid by individuals or companies. To twist a well known phrase or saying: No representation without taxation.
