Replaced my mainline Game Boy Pokemon cartridge batteries. None had saves to preserve, so someone gets a fresh start. I have Pokemon pinball and Trading Card Game cartridges with saves and old batteries. Saving them will require a lighter touch, or a save dumper

This is gonna be niche but if you find yourself in Riverside midtown area, The Lucky Greek has thick, CHEAP breakfast burritos. I slept on these for years. Don't follow my example

I have wasted tens of hours, hundreds at this point, filling in various pokedexes and shiny hunting. I hate it!! I need to stop! But the whole time I'm thinking, what Pokemon game am I playing next?

The Hori PS1 one-handed controller fits all of the buttons (minus analog sticks naturally) on one handle of a regular controller. Easy to use if speed is not a concern. No back buttons makes it less desirable versus the ASCII version

Good bike parking in downtown Riverside. Covered, spacious, plentiful, good location, thin veneer of security. Only problem: you have to bike through the car's payment booth. Kinda awkward. I've never seen it used. Might be a visibility problem?

Other Christmas foodies: egg nog with pasteurized eggs. I whipped the egg whites and everything. Two people experienced egg nog for the first time ever that night. Sorry, all downhill from here. Pancakes with sourdough discard and heavy cream. Huge hit, no leftovers

Panettone update: kinda meh. I made a double batch because it always runs out. The loaves didn't rise that well despite me trying to get a better oven spring. The rum helped out immensely though! Little flavor packets throughout. With so many dessert options people didn't eat much. Ho hum

I visited my usual book store when the owner said a TV pilot was being filmed. I walked down the aisles until I saw Richard Riehle sitting between takes. I nodded. He nodded. I moved on

ULPT: Buy a large reusable cup, say 16oz, then use it to order a smaller amount of drink, say 12oz of coffee. Chances are they're eyeballing the amount and might overfill. Free upgrade!
