A bat we ringed 20 years ago. Study long since over, data analysed, published, a small chapter in a bigger story. We all moved on to new challenges, new jobs. To us it's history. But this wee fella gets on with life, still doing what he did then. Surviving in a world we are fast turning upside down.

As winter approaches, bats are less active but our team doesn't rest as long as there are bats that need help. This tiny bat found on rail platform, caked in black grease and very weak. 🦇 July is here and this bat season is full-on! Mothers continue to nurse their young - some pups are almost full-size while others are still tiny. This is peak clumsy bat time, as young bats are learning how to fly, venturing out into the world and often getting themselves into tricky situations

Young Myotis brandtii, mum did great job raising him fit & healthy, he flies well. So why did he sit in full view on a door for two days without moving? This species has been recorded in the wild living to over 40 years. How? 🤷‍♀️😅🦇 Now back flying with his fam .... #lovebats #batcare #hesgorgeous
