I just had a recruiter message me, and I was all stoked, gave my best and latest resume cover letter and all the nine yards. Then she starts wanting to reference me to an expert (paid) to help me optimize my resume and cover letter. Gives me a 1 star rating on my content - surely it's not that bad?

The amount of people I know who have been laid off from games industry jobs and are deciding to leave games entirely as a result is not only extremely saddening (of course), but also genuinely scary. We have lost legitimately thousands of years of knowledge and experience in the last four years.

Just occured to me that Abiotic Factor seems to be absent from a lot of GOTY shortlists, even indie ones. Baffling to me as it has not only been an enormous hit, but might be one of the most interesting survival-crafting games ever, especially once you start dimension-hopping.
