Yesterday's results make it clear: we're excited for change. With Congress asleep at the wheel, voters want representation that shows up to work. We’re ready to flip #VA05 to stand up for healthcare, good jobs, and a future where working people get ahead. One year until we win this race.

I’ve been a little under the weather the past several days, so Halloween has mostly involved puttering around the house and watching scary movies. But I still had to break out the matching dragon costumes for me and Jo. Hope all of #va05 has a safe and happy Halloween!

Over the last week, I’ve watched my community scramble. Food pantries, churches, and neighbors have braced to support the thousands of Albemarle residents afraid of going without food. Rep. McGuire peacocking at a food bank while his inaction makes folks go hungry is the darkest irony I can imagine.

By now y’all have probably heard the news about redistricting. This may change the #VA05 but it ain’t changing this race. I’m going to keep fighting for working class folks. I’m going to keep fighting for left behind rural communities. And by God, we’re gonna win, whatever the district lines are.

Congratulations y’all! News of a child on the way should be a joy. For too many folks our age, it brings fear: how will we afford childcare? Do we have to move for schools? Can I take time from work? It should be easier to fill out homes with children’s laughter than with handwringing and debt.
