Today, we have the pleasure of welcoming Prof. G. Senthilraja from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, for a seminar entitled: "Advancing climate-adaptative plant pathology: integrating eco-evolutionary dynamics and molecular insights".

Do we really understand how complex systems evolve? Based on experimental evolution in stable vs fluctuating temperature conditions, we show that adaptive mutations in the fungus Zymoseptoria tritici are (i) massively pleiotropic, and (ii) opposed to the phenotypic plasticity.

What did I make my colleagues do today? 1) Invoke Zymoseptoria god 2) Gather ingredients for a wheat-shoot/fungi omelette 3) Measure the impact of early inoculum removal on epidemics to estimate the max effect expected from consumption by springtails (all sound crazy but one is true)
