Saturday 6th June 2026 Winter Kills Could not wait to get into bed tonight. I slept reasonably well last night, but was so cozy and sleepy this morning that I didn't want to get up - so was eager to return to that feeling tonight. Special moments that are all too often fleeting - happy minutes.

Friday 5th June 2026 Drive Had an ok morning in Felixstowe and set off back to Essex after lunch. They were playing some absolute tunes on the radio and I felt like singing. Then "Drive" came on and before I knew it I was sobbing. It was a timely release of tension that had been building for days.

A chance encounter between two UNIT personnel culminates in a short-term friendship. But when fate brings them back together five years later, they are forced to deal with how they feel about each other.

Thursday 4th June 2026 Don't give up I don't have the strength or the energy any more. I feel empty. There's nothing left. So why carry on? How do I get past this feeling of pointlessness? Where is the hope? The purpose? What's the fucking point?

Wednesday 3rd June 2026 You are not alone Despairing today over the ramping up of attacks on the freedoms and liberty of gay and queer people. For the first time in a very long time I've been concerned about being visible as a gay man. I'd forgotten what it was like to be hated just for being me.

I should have bought a big fucking cake, but it's too late to get to Lidl before they shut.

What this country needs more than anything else is the people in Government to have integrity. In history at school we learned about the great social reformers who made things better for those with less than themselves. The word reform has been undermined in itself. It seems to now mean discriminate

Reform led Essex County Council has banned the promotion of Pride in libraries unless for library events. I'm not happy about this as libraries are places to be informed, but in an age of "equality" they should then remove all community events notices. Can't wait to see what they do with Poppy Day.

Tuesday 2nd June 2026 What a waste For the first time ever I've seriously thought that I need to make the next few years really count. When you're young you expect your life to just happen - that it will unfold and you'll have lived a full and rich life. If I'm lucky I've got fifteen years to fill

Monday 1st June 2026 Talking loud and clear Having one of those discombobulated days today. Feeling off kilter. Lack of focus. A bit out of control. Not feeling sad or depressed. Not really feeling anything emotional. I suppose I'm just tired. Looking forward to a few days off from Wednesday.

Sunday 31st May 2026 (Don't Fear) The Reaper I've been very conscious of death recently. I suppose it's since Clio died. I watch a programme or film and my first thought on seeing a cat/dog/horse etc or an old person is "they're dead". It might not read as healthy but it probably is a good thing.

Those rotten 18 year old boys I was at agricultural college with who tried to make my life hell are turning 40 this year. Hahahahaha 🤣

Saturday 30th May 2026 I don't feel like dancing Lovely day at work. Busy but fun. My feet are killing me tonight, so once I was home that was it - no going out dancing tonight. The worries and sleepless nights of last weekend seem very silly now. Lesson learned. Day at home tomorrow. Nice!

Friday 29th May 2026 Hello Goodbye One of my team left today, and although I'd only known them a short time, I'm going to miss them. There are a couple of people I've connected with - not so much that we have loads in common but more that we're on a level. Experiences, outlook , comprehension.

Thursday 28th May 2026 Come into the garden babe Had a lovely hour in the local public gardens, just relaxing and trying to forget unpleasant things. Today has been a much better day than yesterday - for spirit, heart, mind and soul. My appetite is returning and the pain in my side has gone.

Wednesday 27th May 2026 Breathe I've been feeling out-of-sorts for a week now - no real appetite and not feeling bothered about much. Kind of fed up and lacking energy. A lot of it has been tied up with emotional overwhelm but beyond that I'm tired of the enshitification of pretty much everything

Tuesday 26th May 2026 Solving Problems After three days of upset and anxiety, I'm pleased to be able to put that to bed tonight. Tomorrow is a day off, and a chance to relax. Was reminded today that I mustn't focus on the one or two negative voices and instead listen to the 100 positive voices

Monday 25th May 2026 Always on my mind Did not sleep at all well last night. My mind was in overdrive and I couldn't switch off certain thoughts. Went in to work a couple of hours early as no point just laying waiting. Day was ok. Good talk with H tonight to unpack my brain. Helped. Shattered.

Sunday 24th May 2026 Road to Nowhere I've hit an absolute slump. Earlier I could have screamed and wanted to smash things. Now I just want to sit and cry. Found out someone I used to know passed away. We were Penpals in the late 90's. We met up for a sort of date once but didn't click in RL. Sad

Fifty-five years old and life is still throwing lessons at me.

Saturday 23rd May 2026 Absolutely Fabulous Busy in the shop today. One pair of customers were a gay male couple. I don't remember what they bought - maybe ices. We had a bit of banter over the till - same as I do with everyone - but as they left I heard one say to the other "Isn't he fabulous?!"

Friday 22nd May 2026 Freedom This is what it was all about. The hard work, stress, anxiety and depression were the price for the ability to get up and do whatever I like. Today I walked to the bakery and bought croissants for breakfast, eaten while watching a prison drama from the 1970s. Heaven!

Finally we know when everything changed - the slow collapse of civilization started in 1974 with Peter and Jane. Bastards!

Thursday 21st May 2026 Summer Nights For the first time this year, it's felt like summer. A warm Mediterranean style breeze gently caressing. Gulls on the wing reflecting the golden rays of sun off the white of their feathers. Light late into the evening. It's been lovely. I scrubbed the patio.

Wednesday 20th May 2026 This is me Had a meeting with some former clients today, and not for the first time in the past few weeks, I was told once again "You look so different!". I've been described as taller, slimmer, happier. Today the remark was that I was a much better colour - far less grey.
