We’re getting very close to having a government that the majority of people regards as illegitimate, while depriving them of the one pressure valve—fair & legitimate elections—that can serve to reconcile themselves to the system. It's become clear that this administration is just a protracted war on anybody who's read a book without pictures in it. It's a miracle we're all still getting up and going to work every morning. The psychological drain is the point, and I'm increasingly grateful to the people who are still decent.

I think the news media is failing in the coverage of Trump's tariffs. They are not just bad for our economy, certain to increase prices, cost us jobs, hurt our companies and not achieve any of their stated goals. They are deranged. They are incoherent. They are the economic policy of a lunatic.
