Side effects from last meal?

when i say "bad artist", the tricky thing is when saying that is well all artists actually start out as bad. i still think my work is bad, but its all about how seriously you take art and avoiding being in a single comfort zone for longer than you should be.

deviantart nowadays is just embarrassing to browse. the ai stuff and generally extremely poor art in general since most artists seem to have left it has just left it in such a horrible state. surprised the art is even still around.

to any newbie artists who feel pressured into doing complex shading and lines for every picture you may draw, please dont sketching is far more powerful and goes a long way to getting better as an artist long term, save the time consuming stuff for certain pictures only.

wew this one took a while. this is a gift for @techtonicpressure.bsky.social of his wonderful human puffergal aster! i tried my best to capture her energy and admittedly drawing three shots of her was challenging, but you have to step out of your comfort zone as an artist.

not really too surprised my lace pic didnt get much attention the issue i think is her design just doesnt look that interesting as a round and the fully spherical shape without any interesting pose just made it not really stand out no matter the next one will be way more interesting

am happy my hornet pic got liked so much, am not satisfied with my shading ability though, but you gotta start somewhere i guess

it's been a while. this time it's hornet from that obscure (500k players pfftt thats nothing) game hollow knight silksong. been obsessed with it and also hornet, so i just had to draw her with a lovely round figure. shes a bit self conscious about her figure, she shouldnt be though.

one of my personal philosophies when it comes to drawing inflated characters (just my personal way of doing things please dont think i believe everyone needs to do this) is that i tend to channel "pregnancy" (smoothness and the nice perfect look) rather than fatness (lumpy and imperfect).
