1. More legislation happens at the state & local level than at the federal level - and it’s not close. We need a progressive ALEC: a machine that gets strong Democratic legislation into the hands of state and local leaders across the country (requires progressive state & local leaders)

Our democracy didn’t erode because the GOP was mean. It was a calculated plan - cruelty was just a side effect. ALEC mass-produces laws, Citizens United unleashed unlimited money, and gerrymandering rigs elections. Getting mean isn’t the fix. Democrats need to be just as calculating and strategic.
