Everything I finished reading in 2025📚 Looking back, this is a pretty varied assortment!

It's kind of nuts just how many amazing games have come out this year! I've had a wonderful time with Blue Prince, Silksong, Mario Kart World, and Hades II, and now Dispatch is rounding out my year nicely. It is *stunning* how good this game is—the Telltale adventure genre is back in top form.

I'm nearly 20 hours in, and Hades II is everything I loved from the first game, only more. It's a staggering achievement.

Fun fact: there are also orchestral parts written for bass clarinet in A, an instrument that literally *does not exist*.

My latest video is a little electric piano cover of a theme that has become a Mario canon staple!🎹 www.youtube.com/watch?v=imKX...

The latest Youtube feature is automatic AI dubbing, which was applied without me asking for it on a music video, meaning the default experience is an AI voice talking over an electric piano recording. I'm honestly blown away that they thought turning this on by default was a good idea.

The end of Act 2 is far enough for me. In Hollow Knight, it took me 32 hours to reach the good ending (defeating Radiance). Compare that with Silksong, where it took me 49 hours just to get to the most basic ending! It's a hefty game! What a world, what an experience.

Silksong, Hades II, the Switch 2, Blue Prince, Clair Obscur...2025 is one of those BIG years for game releases! Definitely going in the pantheon with 2017, 2007, and 1998!

Silksong's difficulty is tempered by its interconnected world—my progress has rarely been gated by just one awful boss encounter. I still don't love the runbacks, but it's nice to take a break from gitting gud sometimes to explore more of the fascinating world.
