Great to show @georgiagould.bsky.social the excellent work taking place in Sheffield’s Family Hubs. Together with the Cabinet Office, @sheffcitycouncil.bsky.social and @southyorksmca.bsky.social, are testing new ways to improve public services and working to improve support for families.

Last week I was pleased to speak at an important conference in Sheffield organised by Football Unites-Racism Divides. People from across the country came together to discuss the violence and hate that we saw in South Yorkshire and across the UK in the summer and how it is countered 1/

It is great to see that construction of the new HMS Sheffield is underway, supporting thousands of British manufacturing jobs. Last week the Lord Mayor of Sheffield attended the steel cutting ceremony in Glasgow where the new Type 26 Frigate will be built for the Royal Navy.

Construction is underway to build 77 new council homes at Newstead in Birley. It was great to be at the official groundbreaking this week. This is a 100% housing development. We are working hard with our partners to build the new homes that Sheffield needs.
