Today Behcet’s UK joins us as our newest affiliate charity. The charity is bringing their expertise in funding research into Behçet’s disease, which will help us advance research into the prevention, detection and treatment of Behçet’s.

True or false, you can only be part of #OurFutureHealth when you’ve had a clinic appointment? False. If you’ve completed the questionnaire, this is a meaningful aspect of taking part. It provides valuable information that researchers can study, whether you’ve had a clinic appointment or not.

Meet Mohammad, one of the first researchers studying our volunteers' data. He shares how he's using #OurFutureHealth to make healthcare discoveries that benefit people from ethnic minority groups, who have often been under-represented in health research.

We want to represent young people who haven’t been represented in health research before, because this is the only way that new health discoveries and treatments can benefit everyone. #OurFutureHealth volunteer Nicolo is encouraging other young people to get involved.

A new study using #OurFutureHealth data will investigate the link between Parkinson’s disease and insulin resistance, helping researchers understand whether GLP-1 medications (used for weight loss and type-2 diabetes) could help to treat the disease. 🧪

For #CancerPreventionActionWeek our charity partner @wcrf.org is tackling online misinformation about cancer with its new free TRUST test. This tool helps sense-check any health information you see online.

With 2.7 million people signed up to #OurFutureHealth, we would need over 33,000 double decker buses to fit all of you! Thank you to everyone who has taken part so far to help researchers find new ways to prevent, detect and treat diseases.

Professor Daniel Smith is studying our volunteers’ data to make new discoveries about mental health. Last year, he co-authored a paper using #OurFutureHealth data which revealed that people living with autoimmune conditions may have almost double the risk of mental health issues than others.

For students like Susan, taking part in #OurFutureHealth means contributing to health research to help others, while also learning information about their own health which could help them to live longer, healthier lives.
