This was a fantastic year for game releases. So many games I can see make a case why it’s someone’s game of the year. I beat over 100 games and 1/3 of them were released this year. This is my top 24 best games of 2023. I look forward to what 2024 has in store for us

Finished Like a Dragon Gaiden and as someone who has played through all the games and seen Kiryu journey the finale of this game was very effective. Overall this was a great game and it’s most likely joining my list of best games of 2023. I look forward to Yakuza 8 in January

I beat Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn today. And with that game beat I can now proudly say I’ve beat every Fire Emblem game released in the west. This game was fantastic. This is definitely one of the best Fire Emblem games ever made! I love this series and I’m so happy to finally beat this game

Early in the year we got Fire Emblem Engage and the protagonist had this ridiculous tooth paste Pepsi hair style. As silly as that hair looks I have now used that hair color on two of my created characters from other games and it’s starting to is grow on me lol Also play Fire Emblem Engage! So good

My Fire Emblem marathon continues with a game I’m righting a wrong from a couple of months ago which is Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn. I’m now more than halfway through it and this game is phenomenal. I hate that a dropped this game a couple months ago but this time I will see it through to the end

I finished my playthrough of Fire Emblem GBA and I love this game. It’s an excellent starting point if you are looking to get into the series. One thing I find funny is this game ends with it foreshadowing the villain of a game we never got in the west. At least Sacred Stones is great so oh well lol

For the month of November the only games I’m really interested in this month is Super Mario RPG and Yakuza Gaiden so I’m gonna take this opportunity to tackle a couple of Fire Emblem games. Fire Emblem GBA was added a while ago to NSO and now I’m revisiting it. Always a fun time to play Fire Emblem

Back to back to back 100% games. I usually reserve 100% games I really love/ones that feel like they respect the players time and Cyberpunk 2077, Spider Man 2, and Super Mario Wonder were fantastic games to 100%. I would recommend each of these games

Originally after beating Lies of P I was going to finally go back to Demon Souls to beat it but I had the urge to play Bloodborne. What was going to be me playing the game for an hour just to get a feel of the game again is now turning into a full revisit. This game is fantastic

I finished Sonic Frontiers and I’m glad I can now say I’ve beat every 3D Sonic game. I’m very mixed on this game. There were times I enjoyed my time and other times I was ready to be done. I hope Sonic Team takes all the good from this game and makes a great game in the future

Last night I 100% Lies of P. When I beat a game I usually move on immediately but to me Lies of P was so good I wanted to make the effort to do everything in the game. I got every achievement and I had a great time playing through the game 3 times. This game is definitely in my top 10 for the year

It’s so wild to me that I’m on my 3rd playthrough of Lies of P and I’m close to getting every achievement in the game. I knew I was gonna like it but damn I didn’t expect to 100% it completely. If this game doesn’t end up in my top 5 for 2023 I’ll be shocked

Just finished watching season 1 of Castlevania Nocturne and I already can’t wait for season 2. There were two moments in this show that got me really hyped. Now I’m in the mood to play Castlevania hmm 🤔

Today I beat both Lies of P and Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways Separate Ways was more Resident Evil 4 Remake which is great. Ada has some badass moments which is great to see Lies of P is one of the best souls games. I enjoyed the combat and the environments in this game were excellent

I have put a couple of hours into F Zero 99 and I can’t tell this will be one of my most played games this year and I’m confident this will be on my list of best games played this year

30 hours later and with that I have beat Hogwarts Legacy. This game was a lot of fun. As a Harry Potter fan I love catching all the references as I explored. The combat was good and the music capture the score of the movies really well. Solid 2023 game in a year of great releases

I’m starting to play some of the games I missed out on early in the year. Yesterday I started Hogwarts Legacy and put 10 hours into it. It’s a fun game I can see why so many liked it. It’s a fun open world game. Exploring in this game is great. I’m excited to play more of it

Been binge watching It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and it’s so funny. A long time ago I watched the first season and enjoyed it but never saw the rest. Glad I picked this show back up

Yesterday I wanted to finish 100% Sea of Stars but that didn’t happen because I was too tired to finish. Now I have finished 100% it and yeah this game is in my top 3 games of the year list. If this game ends up lower on my list I will be shocked. This is a must play for me. What a fantastic game

I beat Sea of Star and this game is definitely one of the best RPGS of the year. Sea of Stars is currently my second favorite game of the year. I’m so happy Sea of Stars end up delivering with its combat and it’s soundtrack. I’m so excited to see what Sabotage does next. I’m sure it will be amazing

I’m 10+ hours into Sea of Stars and so far this game has been great. I love that it’s pretty much Chrono Trigger had a baby with Super Mario RPG and it made this game. The OST has been fantastic so far and the story has been pretty good and it’s somewhat challenging. So far so good I’m loving it

Xenoblade 3 Future Redeemed is my current game of the year and my favorite backlog game of the year is Ghost Trick

This past week I beat Dead Cells, Vampire Survivor, and Yooka Laylee and the impossible lair. I’m so glad to get out of this gaming funk I was in and just in time for the release of Sea of Stars. I have high hopes for and I think it can potentially be a GOTY contender. The wait is almost over

I’ve been playing Vampire Survivor these past few days and a thought I had before I started playing it was I wasn’t gonna get addicted to this game. Tonight I started to play around 8 PM and before I was about to do one more game I thought to myself what time is it I checked it and it was 1:30 AM 🙃

The next game I’m really looking forward to playing is Sea of Stars but for now I got Dead Cells which I’m enjoying the hell out of and now I’m continuing my Mario and Luigi replay journey. The last time I beat Bowser’s Inside Story was when it came out in so it gonna be fun revisiting it

I wish Final Fantasy Tactics was on Switch. I really want to replay it but I want to play it portable and not on my tv

This weekend I’m playing through a couple of short games. I beat all the gym leaders in Pokémon Stadium 2 and now I’m tackling some of the cups. I’m also playing through Metroid Dread again and that game so fun. It’s one of the best games in the series

With the release of Sea of Stars coming soon I decided to replay the Messenger. I was able to 100% it in 8 hours and with another playthrough out of the way I’m reminded why this is my favorite indie game. Such a fantastic game with a phenomenal soundtrack

Finished another playthrough of Xenoblade 3. Having the story of Future Redeemed in mind with this playthrough I’m so happy with how this trilogy story ends. It was a perfect ending for this saga. I’m very excited to see what’s next for Monolith Soft. They know how to make incredible RPGs

I watched the Sea of Stars documentary and it was great. Sabotage last game was the Messenger and that is one of my favorite games of all time and Sea of Stars is looking like it will capture that SNES RPG era magic. I hope this game is a huge success

I’m in a gaming slump and I’m waiting for the next game to really catch my interest. I’m excited to find out what’s game ends up doing that

These past few weeks I’ve started watching tv shows and anime. Some of the shows/anime that have seen are Violet Evergarden, The Bear, Ted Lasso, and Cyberpunk Edgerunner. If y’all have any good shows/anime recommendations I’m all ears

The news about Square Enix wanting to focus less on mid sized games and more on AAA titles is disappointing. I know FF 16 is great and FF 7 Rebirth will be fantastic but please give their smaller games some love too. Paranormasight and Octopath 2 are some of the best games this year

I now have got my second character to Platinum Rank in Street Fighter 6. I have praised the hell out of Street Fighter 6 because of how great of a game it is. I’m just happy to get back into fighting games. My hype for Mortal Kombat 1 and Tekken 8 is very high now. Fighting game are great

I finished reading the Twilight Princess manga and it was amazing. Twilight Princess is my favorite game of all time and if it were to ever get a remake my hope is Nintendo incorporates the story from the manga. There are so many great moments in it I would love to see them play out in a game
