Do you #swatch to start a project? I find it helpful to make a one to get a feel for a pattern and how the colors I’ve chosen look together. Once, I bought a whole new set of yarn for a project after #knitting a swatch. What time saver! I also save them with my project notes as a tactile record. 🧶

Week 70 of #showmeyourknits is mini/gradients in celebration of Advent calendars and holiday knits. I don’t get an advent calendar because I’m usually focusing on wipping up gifts! Here are a couple ornaments I made for our tree.

Not an #indiedyer but an #indieyarn I JUST picked up today is Lillooet Sheep & Cheesery in Boxford, MA. They use every part of their sheep and make a wonderful fisherman’s worsted wool. This natural skein will make a cozy hat gift for the holidays.

OK, so that big push last week was not fruitful. #Knitting away all cocky while watching TV and held up my work to evaluate it when I noticed a #droppedstitch tucked just before the ribbing starts. Now that it’s fixed, I’ll try it on again tomorrow before binding off.

Week 61 of #showmeyourknits is show me something that brings you JOY 🎉 or that you have #knit to CARE 💕 for others. Each year I make teacher gifts during the holidays to show my appreciation for my kid’s teachers. These little cable trees are ones I made last year.

We’re on week 60 of #showmeyourknits 🧶 and the theme is #autumn ! My favorite season partially because it means time to wear knits again! This #ColdPineShawl by Caitlin ffrench is a go-to in my wardrobe.

Time for another round of ‘What’s on Your Needles?’ 🧶Week 58 of #ShowMeYourKnits I’ve stalled out on this sweater project and grabbed a crochet hook to make a #decahedronstar for a friend’s baby that was born earlier this year. More time for #WIPs as the farm season swings to an end next month!

Sweaters for #showmeyourknits week 57! This time around I’ll share the first custom sized sweater I made at a workshop at @circleofstitches.bsky.social where Ana introduced me to Jane Richmond’s Ladies Classic Raglan Sweater pattern that launched many original designs of mine.

#showmeyourknits week 56 is something you made for a baby and it’s a special one because it was the first non-square thing I knit thinking a baby sock would be easier than other projects 😂

#showmeyourknits Week 55 is #stripes 🧶 Always a fun element in knits. For this #pulloversweater I purled where the arm stripes would go and stitched them in afterwards. Worked great!

#showmeyourknits week 54 is scraps! The Stash Busting Poncho took care of a lot of extra yarn kicking around.

#showmeyourknits week 53 is #shawls and I’ve made many. Boneyard Shawl by Stephen West made with Cryptic Hollow Fibers fingering weight in Astral Sea (loved this yarn I got at the 1st Fiber Witch Festival) and Malabrigo Yarn Mechita in Paprika. Love the drape and feel of these yarns.

Blue is the theme for #showmeyourknits and it’s made me realize I haven’t made much with just blue. Which surprises me. Here’s a close up of a scarf made in a broomstick lace pattern. A gift that I never got a proper photo of.

Reposting my sweater this week for #showmeyourknits because I’ve worked on the body and frogged back several times experimenting with adding design elements and changing my mind. At this point I’m just going to work it as shaped stockinette and let the cabled sleeve be the main event.

Another oldie but goodie for #showmeyourknits #handmadeblanket edition. This is a #crochet pattern called Sejia Set by Bev Ireland I made back in 2008. This #strollerblanket is designed to tuck around a little one and stay secure via the incorporated hole to clip through shoulder straps.
