South Cotswolds in the 9th most sewage affected constituency in the country. It’s why I fight so hard for such emphatic change. I honestly believe it’s an issue everyone can be unified on - nobody wants to have polluted waterways. We need change, let’s all work for it.

We were finally able to hand in our Petition to protect NHS services in the Cotswolds to Number 10 today. This has been a long time coming, with so much time put in by so many selfless activists. The signatures that have been collected demonstrate the support that our local health services have.

Today is World Oceans Day. Having rowed solo across the Indian, Pacific and Atlantic Ocean’s I like to think I have a closer relationship to our oceans than most. They are what keeps us all alive, so we have to do all we can to return the favour. #worldoceansday

It is a national scandal that millions can’t afford their basic energy needs. The Essential Energy Guarantee would be a huge step in easing the pressure that millions in this country face. Under it, everyone would receive a discount on an essential amount of energy.

It’s not just Reform and Farage, though he does his best to race to the bottom on the issue of dodgy donations. People are sick of Conservative cronyism and Labour handouts. I’m glad this is getting some traction but it’s time for action. There has to be a cap on all party donations in the Uk.

I finally met with Stephen Kinnock, the Government’s Minister for Care. He has committed to pressing the ICB for an urgent guarantee that there will be funding for a new surgery in Sherston. Local health care is crucial to every community and making sure everyone has access is vital.

With Parliament now prorogued until the state opening, it’s hard not to reflect on my first parliamentary session. I’m proud of what I’ve achieved, in the South Cotswolds and in Westminster, but I am also focussed on what lays ahead; for myself, my constituency and my country.

Reports today that fruit and veg prices are set to soar in the coming weeks are another stark reminder that the Good Food Bill our party is pushing for in the King’s Speech is so vital for the future of our country. Food security is national security. Without it, Britain will always be at risk.

I have signed @fivanmierlo letter which urges the PM to back his amendment which would close loopholes in the Water Industry Act. Stronger accountability and better protection for our waterways is essential. We must hold polluters to account and deliver a fair deal for everyone.

I am shocked to hear the news coming out of Lechlade last night. Thankfully, it seems that the injury is not expected to be life threatening and the perpetrator is in custody. I will continue to monitor the situation closely and hope for the quickest resolution possible.
